Day 166
I have been busy planning a hugely busy summer. I really didn’t want to be this busy, but it is just all falling in place and I don’t seem to have a say anymore. But, it should be great! Ha ha!
Been reading, and writing, and working and preparing. Good, good times.

Day 265
Today was a mess! UGH! I have 4 students who are “cheating” on their papers. 2 of them copied each other, 1 copied from the internet, and 1 copied from their parents. Blah. It is a huge issue, and harder yet to solve since we are a collaborative school and it makes it hard. Then, parents blame me! Telling ME I need to prove their child’s paper was like another student’s. Insane.
We are in the thick and ugly of our final products. Stressing me out! 1st hour doing the Lit Magazine, which is going to be awesome I hope. 3rd hour Passage Portfolio Presentations…this has gotten ugly. Expi is working on their dual persuasive essays. 6th hour is working on final newspapers. PLUS it is all about next year. Selecting books, selecting LA pertinent assignments, fitting them into Expis, figuring out what training and work I need to do for YB. How to incorporate CW, NP, and YB into next year’s LA classes. It is crazy!!

Day 161 – 165
Overall, it was a pretty great week for taking some me time. I finished a book for enjoyment, finished the book club book, went to see a great movie with JSL and P, did a bunch of writing, a bunch of grading, just a bunch of good stuff. It was very relaxing and a good week. The bday party was loads of fun and I really spent a lot of time with MP, AC, and the students. Lots of bonding and good times. Since they aren’t coming back next year, it was a nice, happy turn of events.
We have a really busy summer planned, which is good, and bad. Not sure how exactly I feel about the whole busy all the time thing. But it should be relaxing and fun, if nothing else, but here’s hoping for some quiet, none busy times too!

Day 260 – 264
Well, it was, as anticipated, a busy, busy week. I went to Moab to meet the 9th graders on Wednesday and we had a sleepover and then went rafting on Thursday, and then home on Friday. But Friday was P’s and WW’s bday party, so we were out till the wee hours, then Saturday, I slept and slept. I am too old for such parties. But it was fun. We have 2 weeks of actual in class time left, then PPP and SLC’s. Gonna be a really lazy few weeks.
Camping was awesome. The kids had lots of fun and it wasn’t full curriculum, it was just relaxing for them. We did secret sisters and thank you cards. Just a great week. I am hopeful they can get back on track and work hard. I am nearly done with this blog as well. I goal was for a school year. So the days are numbered. Overall, I’ve done pretty well. I think I may keep the blog going, but not the goal of a daily writing. Just when I feel it is a good time or day. After the trainings and such…that is the new plan.

Day 160
I have been reading the BC book in little bursts. It is an easy read, but isn’t horribly engaging. So, just a few pages at a time. I have also been writing like mad. I am not sure why, but the urge to write this sad story hit and I’ve just been putting it down…There, of course, is a lot of me in there, but there is alot of others in there too. It is a weird feeling to know that someone I know may read it and will they be able to see the distinctions? Will the parts that are like me convince them that the other parts are as well? Scary, scary thought. Not sure how people can emotionally take getting published. I just seem to write out of compulsion, maybe they can be found and internet published after i’m dead.

Day 259
The 9th graders are on their camping trip, I am going down and meeting them on Wednesday night for the rafting trip on Thursday, so there really isn’t much to report.
I have a few students that didn’t go that are working hard on their individual projects. I also gave the 8th graders their persuasive essay assignments. They are crazy about it. In a bad way. Like I am giving them the hardest thing they have ever heard of. The sad thing is, for a lot of these kids it MAY be the hardest thing they have ever done. But they need to learn some real LA items and I am going to get it through to them, even if it is in the last weeks of school! HAH!

Day 159
I met JSL at coffee today and we chatted and graded and made plans to go to Sex in the City 2 when it comes out. Good times. I did laundry, and read, and cleaned, and made dinner. It was pretty much a good day. I did some yoga and feel better about things. I feel the stress bump is over and I’m on the downward slide of the year.

Day 258
I had a great day today. I made some Pro and Anti persuasive checklists for the 8th graders, I made some schedules for the 9th grade classes (who are out this week and I don’t have to see most of them all week long), and I finished up the 5 grades in question in my SLCC class. Pretty solid day.

May 8
I am at the end of the class, and have been fairly happy about everything. But am severely doubting my grading. Am I too rough? too easy? I have arguments with students on their grades and arguments with their parents on their grades. I need a much more rigid late policy and an end of term policy added into my syllabus for Fall. For sure.

Day 154, 155, 156, 157, 158
I didn’t have very much time on my own throughout the week, but today I made up for it. BFF and I went and got pedicures, shopped, got my ring sized, ate sushi for lunch. Aghh…good times. I am now home and ready to read, exercise, and do some writing. I have a crazy week coming up, so need to take my relaxation ahead of time! Yippee!
